Nina Mendes
Nina Mendes is a multitalented artist, recognized for her exceptional contributions to the world of performing arts. Born with an innate passion for theatre and cinema, Nina’s journey toward artistic excellence began with her pursuit of a degree in Acting and Directing at the prestigious Dirceu de Mattos University in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, which she completed in 1986.
Throughout her illustrious career, Nina’s remarkable talent and dedication have earned her wide recognition and acclaim. One of her early triumphs came when she received the Best Actress Award at the Dulcina Theatre Festival, a testament to her captivating performance in Jean Genet’s compelling play “The Balcony.” Her talent extended beyond the stage, as she also took part in numerous television programs and mini-series produced by Rede Brasil de Televisão.
Venturing beyond the borders of her homeland, Nina embarked on a transformative journey to Barcelona, Spain, where she assumed the role of Entertainment Director at the Animatur Theatre Company. For an impressive decade, she brought her visionary expertise to Barcelona’s vibrant theatre scene. It was during this time that she developed her artistic mastery and refined her skills, preparing for the next chapter in her career.
Ultimately drawn to the enchanting land of Ireland, Nina’s passion for theatre and cinema found new dimensions. In Ireland, she directed the groundbreaking play “The Secrets of My Soul” by D.M. Liason, courageously presenting a performance featuring completely nude actors on stage — a milestone moment in Irish theatre history. Further enriching her directorial career, Nina also helmed the acclaimed production of “The Serpent” by Nelson Rodrigues.
Nina’s talent transcended the boundaries of stage and screen, making her a captivating presence in the world of cinema. In the feature film “Empire of Dirty,” a Bolt Production, she left an indelible mark with her commanding portrayal of the main antagonist. Alongside her powerful performances in feature films such as “Surrender Your Horns” and “The Clothing,” both shot in Ireland, Nina also contributed her creative talents to several short films, including “Encounters,” “Scripted,” “Office Defence,” and “Tormento.”
As a director, she masterfully led projects such as “Tú eres yo,” “A Puta do Lado de Lá,” “Scripted,” and “Rats,” demonstrating her versatility and passion for storytelling.
Ever enthusiastic about learning and self-improvement, Nina continued her studies to refine her craft. In 2015 and 2019, she deepened her knowledge and experience, graduating once again as both a director and actress from the prestigious Kinsale School of Acting and Film in Ireland. She has also worked as an actor and filmmaker at St. John’s Film and Productions, both based in Ireland.
Nina Mendes’s exceptional talent and dedication have been celebrated through numerous awards. She received the Best Actress Award at the ShowCase Ireland Actors Guide in Dublin in 2015, and was also honored with the Best Actress Award in Fishpond Monologues.
Not content with personal achievements alone, Nina also dedicated herself to promoting and advancing theatre festivals. In 2019, she took the lead in organizing and directing the First Nelson Rodrigues Festival in Ireland, an event that not only celebrated the iconic Brazilian playwright but also marked the launch of the first English-language book containing seven of his most famous works.
Continuing her commitment to the theatrical world, in 2022, Nina brought her creative vision once again to the stage by directing and producing a staged reading of Nelson Rodrigues’s works at the Avolon Theatre in Dublin.
Today, Nina serves as the CEO of her own company, Studios NMP, based in Ireland. Through this platform, she acts as a mentor and instructor, offering acting courses for aspiring performers, providing on-camera and theatre training, and collaborating with the prestigious Seda School in Dublin while establishing partnerships with the Brazilian Embassy to further enrich the artistic community.
Nina Mendes’s journey is a testament to her unwavering dedication, boundless creativity, and significant contributions to the performing arts — both in her native Brazil and her adopted homeland, Ireland. Her artistic legacy continues to inspire and captivate audiences around the world.

Joyce Ribeiro
Joyce Ribeiro Ferreira holds a degree in Audiovisual Production and has extensive experience in coordination, financial control, and administrative management of audiovisual projects. She has worked with leading production companies such as Teleimage/Lynx Films/Casablanca, Rafael Bastos Hocsnan Comunicação Ltda., Damasco Filmes, Boutique Filmes, Popcon Produções, and Paranoid Brasil, overseeing film, series, and reality projects, including works such as Serra Pelada, Eu, Ela e Um Milhão de Seguidores, Zoo da Zu, The American Guest, and Barras Invisíveis.
With solid experience in film controlling, fiscal analysis, and administrative project management, Joyce combines technical knowledge with hands-on expertise, ensuring efficiency in the execution and accounting of audiovisual productions of various formats and scales.
Gia Dalforne is an executive producer and art director with a career focused on audiovisual storytelling and geek culture. As executive producer of the short film Sound & Scare — selected for the First Time Filmmaker Sessions – Volume 4 — she was responsible for the creative and financial management of the production, team coordination, and scheduling. She also signed the art direction of the short films Até Aí, Tudo Bem and Padre eu Pequei, developing the visual identity and aesthetic concept of the films.
With experience ranging from set work to cultural curatorship, Gia has been working since 2020 as an assistant creative director and columnist for the portal Turn – Mundo Nerd, where she produces content about cinema, literature, and pop culture, in addition to covering events and developing scripts, for short movies, to videos and podcasts. Her work combines aesthetic vision and efficient management, uniting artistic sensitivity and technical organization in the execution of audiovisual projects.
Glauber Andorinha is a Brazilian artivist and environmentalist who has lived in Ireland for over a decade. The author of two published books, he writes from the threshold where humanity sings between sorrow and survival. He believes in stories that bloom, in voices that heal, and in the power of art to unite what borders try to divide.
